Marshall 2203の改造例を紹介します。 SPK=2x12 Tonker Guitar=Ibanez S7420FM (without high-pass cap) 0:00 demo (Everything except MASTER is around 12 O'c) 0:23 TREBLE 0:33 MID 0:43 BASS 0:57 PRESENCE 1:14 P.U.=rear half 1:21 P.U.=front 1:35 Gt volume=lowered 1:51 Gt volume=MAX ■改造一般的な改造Marshallの回路手法を使わず、あえてより古いシンプルな回路手法を用いています。改造の方向性は以下です。 1.ハイゲイン化真空管増設していません。基板はパターンカット無し。Cathode Followerを増幅段に変更しています。ゲインは5150以上ですが、工夫によりハム、発振無し。 2.ピッキング/P.U.の違い/ボリュームへの追従性、アタック強調ハイゲインアンプには、追従性が悪い物も多いですね。ここは過度に気になる体質なので、今機では表現を失わないようにしています。また7弦にも対応しやすくしています。 3.低音が遅れない、速いここに不満のある方も多いのでは？定数、パワーアンプをいじっています。 4.TONE回路で幅広く調整癖が強かったり、トーン回路が使えない物も多いですね。または、改造Marshallの手法コピーのため、根本的な工夫がされてない。その場合、特定のノブ設定でなければ、良い音が得られにくい場合もあるため、そのさらに後の調整は難しい。今機では、トーン回路自体はFenderぽくしたうえで、全ノブ12時でベストに鳴るようトーン回路手前で音を追い込んでいます。結果、自分にとってのベストのサウンドに対して、さらにオーディオ的に調整しやすくなります。また、Bassが12時以降変化しないものも多いですが、今機では重低音が加速度的に増えるようにしています。たかがiPhoneのマイクですが、だいたいの意味は伝わると思います。アンプエンジニアのため、色んなアンプを弾き/所有/改造/設計していますが、完成度の高い状態だと思います。エフェクターや、MASTER, RESONANCE, 線材や部品交換等の簡単な内容ではなく、こういったアンプ全体の改造に挑戦する方が増えることを祈ります。他に、大幅に改造したMarshallとして参考になる動画があれば、ご紹介ください。 ---Modification--- I've avoided to follow the usual method like Soldano. Mod direction is below. 1.High-gain No pattern cut. No additional tube. Just changed the cathode follower to a gain stage. Some component value change. It has more gain than 5150 but no hum, no oscillation. 2.Responce priority I made it not to lose the attack, picking responce, P.U., volume difference. 3.Bass/sonic responce, Better sonic responce than ordinal high gain amps. Power stage value mod. 4.TONE circuit improvement I see many high-gain circuit just follows Soldano method, that I doubt not usefull. Because we must set the knob to get the best sound, then we cannot adjust the total charactor after that (only presence+SPK, cabinet). So I've changed the tone stack to be close to Fender, and modded the pre-tone to be best with all knob=12 O'c. It means I can adjust the total tonal charactor like an audio EQ. And Bass usually doesn't work so much over 12 O'c, but I modded it to get more low-end over 12 O'c. It's only a cheap iPhone mic, but you know what I mean. I'm an amplifier engineer, have been playing/having/modding/designing many amps, but this one is in good condition. Please tell me if you know another "fully modified" Marshall video.

This is me playing Bach. Here is the description below. - Ibanez S7420 - Marshall JMP 2203, modified by myself. - 1x 212(Dry)=Weber Silver Bell in my hand-built Paulownia cabinet - 2x 112(Wet)=Fane Axiom12 driven by Rocktron Velocity150 with T.C. G-major(Delay+Reverb). I'm a guitar amplifier designer/engineer. This Marshall is heavily modified, it has a ton of gain. But I used a Volume Pedal in front of it, around MIN position. I know you say "This is not Marshall!!" but I love this warm, "very far" type of sound when I play this kind of songs alone. This is almost same, was created from an order from my friend. Ou6ltl2u3bI Note this is originally Key=G. And note that there were no instruments like guitar in J.S.Bach era. I mean he was surrounded by Cello or Lute is Key=C or G type instrument. Cello=CGDA, Lute=GCFADG(upper 6 strings). So I often play Bach with all 1 drop tuned guitar, I mean ADGCFAD if 7strings. DGCFAD if 6strings. It's easier and much familier to understand Bach's feelings, especially the open string. This is important, only dropping 6E string to D or C, is not based on the natural playing feelings. This time I played with normal tuning 7strings(Key=A), and you'll find I could play 2B string at the last open string part, that is originally note=A if Key=G. Cheers!

Ibanez S7420FM 2x12 loaded with Weber Silver Bell(Hemp+Paper) 0:15 ch1(clean)-default 0:41 ch2(drive)-default, hi-cut=0(off) 1:00 hi-cut=1 1:18 ch1 2:00 ch1-PULL=BRIGHT 2:35 ch2-default 2:52 ch2-PULL=BOOST Marshall JCM800 2203 の改造例です。 ■仕様 1.方向性はSilver Jubilee。本家はプリ管3本で歪みはダイオードのところ、プリx1増設してちゃんと真空管で歪ませる。 2.ch1/2。FSWで切り替え可能。ch2時にLED点灯 3.PostPI Stereo MASTER,Send/Return 4.Pentode(100W)/Triode(50W) 使用した5Vリレーは3個。専用電源トランス装備によりノイズ無し。 ■ch1 割とミッド豊富なカリっとしたサウンドですが、GAIN=PULLでBRIGHTとなるようにしています。ミッド～ハイミッド抜きで、ハイエンドまで伸び切ったFenderぽくなります。 ■ch2 GAIN=PULLで20dBブースト。PUSH/MAXが、だいたいPULL=centerと同等。 BrightCap付いてるのでGAIN位置によってローカットの効きが変わります。このためブーストがあると、適度なローカット/ゲインの組み合わせが選べるので便利です。 ■ch2_Presence TONE共通の場合、ch1/2でサウンドのバランス取るのが課題になります。このためch2のみに効くプレゼンス（ハイカット）を装備。ところでJubileeの歪みはハイがよく伸びていますが、ハイがうるさくてTREBLE=4以上に出来ない、という方も多いようです。このため音楽的な意味でも、有効となるようハイカット設定しています。 Marshall JCM800 2203 mod example. ---Specification--- 1.Silver Jubilee, without a diode distortion. 1x12AX7 stage added. 2.ch1/2, FootSW controlable, LED=ON with ch2. 3.PostPI Stereo MASTER,Send/Return 4.Pentode(100W)/Triode(50W) Total 5V relay quantity=3pcs, driven by a tiny TX inside. ---Ch1--- Default has plenty of mid-himid range. It's good for Slash, but I installed PUSH/PULL Pot to allow PULL=BRIGHT. It sounds like very smooth widerange Fender. ---Ch2--- GAIN chages the charactor with its position (low-cut degree), so I installed PUSH/PULL Pot, to allow 20dB boost. It will be much easier to take the GAIN/Low-cut balance. ---Ch2 Presence--- The fatal subject for unindependent ch is taking both balance. So I installed presence(Hi-Cut) 3way_SW works only with Ch2. BTW some says Jubilee is harsh and cannot dial TREBLE more than 4, but this hi-cut allows smoother, sweeter overdrive sound.
