LANEY GH100Lの改造例です。 GH100LはほぼAmpeg VL-1001クローンです。Ampeg VLと言えば当時、ポールギルバート、スティーブヴァイ、ザックワイルド、高崎晃等が使っていたアンプ。 GH100LはVLをさらにMarshall寄りにしたうえで、便利な機能を付けたイメージです。 GH100Lの長所は、FSW操作可能なDRIVEにより、ゲイン切り替え出来る点です。これは増幅段を1段バイパスすることで可能になっています。 一方短所は、DRIVE=OFFで十分なゲインが得られず、メタル寄りのリフ-リードの切り替え用途は難しいことです。 今回の改造は、0/9/20dB増幅可能な3wayゲインSWを追加し、DRIVE=OFFでも十分なゲインを稼ぐという内容です。これでメタル寄りの用途に対応出来き、ブースターを使わずにアンプで全てが完結します。 LANEY GH100L modification example. The good of GH100L is FSW switchable DRIVE. This is a bypass of the 2nd gain stage. The bad is you cannot get an enough gain without DRIVE=ON. This makes it difficult to use this amp for a metal riff-lead usage. This mod is the solution for this. The additional 3waySW works as 0/9/20dB gain boost, without DRIVE=ON. Metal riff-lead will be very easy, everything is completed inside the amp.
